The Role:
The Quality Assurance Officer supports the Quality Manager in maintenance, monitoring and implementation of the Integrated Management Systems (BRC/ ISO9001/ PS9000/ ISO14001/ Chain of Custody). The role owns day‑to‑day quality control, problem solving, process audits, document control, and data‑driven improvement. The position partners closely with Production, Printing, Die‑Cutting, and Gluing to prevent defects, reduce waste, and sustain compliance with customer specification, expectation, and regulatory requirements.
Main tasks:
Line Management of Process Quality Control Team (including coordination of rotas, sampling, rework and sorting activities)
Responsible for ensuring that assessment of product quality (including off line product testing) is completed on time, to customer specification, and delivery date.
Managing Complaint and Internal NCR Investigations – logging, processing, collections, and ensuring timely response sent to the customer.
Maintaining internal information systems such as- KPIs, scorecards, GMP Audit Findings, meeting minutes and trending of complaints.
Managing the Internal audit plan (including internal, GMP and Supplier Audits) ensuring schedule is communicated and that corrective/preventative actions are identified, implemented, and tracked to closure.
Ensuring all customer and third-party audits meet requirements, including assistance with completion of Customer Supplier Questionnaire information.
Supporting the Quality Manager in IMS annual reviews to identify areas for continuous improvements.
Maintain SOPs, control plans, inspection standards, and change controls; ensure current revision control.
Streamlining all reporting/process control and monitoring systems within the factory environment.
Assistance with coordination of calibration and validation of critical equipment.

Person Specification
Essential criteria
Minimum 2-year experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in the packaging industry.
Experience with documentation control, SOPs, inspection reports, and audit preparation.
Internal Audit qualification or experience.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and BRCGS packaging and GMP for packaging environments
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Team leadership qualities and personal development skills.
Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated, well organised and assertive.
Logical approach, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, QMS software, and ability to produce quality reports.
Desirable criteria
Certification in ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, or BRCGS Packaging Auditor
Experience working in HACCP environments
Knowledge of pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or food-sector packaging compliance
