Job Overview:
The Toolroom Manager will oversee the maintenance, repair, and manufacture of injection mould tools, jigs, fixtures, and automation components. They will lead a team of skilled technicians to drive continuous improvement and reduce downtime.

* Responsibilities include day-to-day toolroom activities such as preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs, and new tooling projects.
* The successful candidate will operate and supervise work using CNC machines (EDM, Wire Eroder, CNC mill/lathe) and manual machinery (grinders, lathes, drills, welders).
* Tooling must be production-ready and meet required quality standards.
* Strong technical support will be provided to production and engineering departments.
* Apprentices and junior team members will be mentored to promote skills development.
* Tooling records must be maintained and participation in project launches and trials is essential.
* A clean, efficient work environment is ensured through adherence to safety standards and 5 S practices.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a proven background in toolmaking, ideally within an injection moulding environment.
They should possess strong CNC and manual machining skills.
Experience with hot and cold runner systems and precision assemblies is desirable.
Familiarity with heat treatment and tooling finishing processes is also important.
Candidates should have experience leading a team or stepping up in a senior toolroom capacity.
A confident decision-maker who can work under pressure is essential.
Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and time management skills are crucial for this role.
The ideal candidate should hold a Toolmaking or Engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent).
A FLT license or willingness to obtain one is necessary.
Exposure to lean manufacturing or 5 S environments is preferred.
