Duty Manager opportunity at the 4* Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. The Bracken Court Hotel is part of the Moriarty Group, an Irish owned company involved in both the retail grocery and hotel industries. The company owns three SuperValu stores in Balbriggan, Skerries and Palmerstown and two 4* hotels, the Court Yard Hotel in Leixlip and the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan. The company currently employs 550 staff. The team at the Bracken Court Hotel is seeking to recruit an experienced, professional and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join the in-house Management Team. Responsibilities
* Work closely with the hotel's management team on the day-to-day running of this busy property.
* Manage all aspects of the hotel while on duty with strong emphasis on Bar Operations.
* Manage a team of up to 35 people on busy shifts.
* Be hands-on while on duty and provide support where needed.
* Collaborate with teams within the food & beverage departments.
* Take a lead role within the beverage/bars side of the business.
* Conduct stock takes.
* Staff training and development.
* Drive sales initiatives for the property in conjunction with the in-house sales team.
* Cover duty management shifts within the hotel.
* Ensure excellent service is provided to all guests/visitors to the property.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar role within busy 3*/4* hotels, minimum 2-3 years experience.
* Desirable: experience as a Bar Manager/Assistant Bar Manager.
* Strong knowledge of the food & beverage industry and current initiatives/innovations within the industry.
* Strength and knowledge in the beverage/bars department of a hotel.
* HACCP trained.
* Ability to multi-task and willingness to help out in all areas of the hotel.
* Experience with a hotel front office system is beneficial.
* Experience in food & beverage, conference & banqueting and events.
* Holding a current First Aid Certificate is desirable but not essential.
* Strong people management and excellent communications skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
* Available to work early/late shifts.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
