Overview

Opportunity for a Site Foreman to join our Life Science team in South Dublin. The Site Manager is responsible to the Project Manager and works closely with the QS. They are responsible for the management of the on-site programme in respect of delivery, workmanship and safety. The Site Manager ensures that adequate and proper labour, plant, materials and sub-contractor's resources are available to meet the requirements of the contract.

Responsibilities

- Establish and monitor key stage programmes
- Set up the site and maintain site security (Maintain site hutting, hoardings and signboards to present a tidy and professional appearance)
- Take possession of the site, plan and coordinate trades activities
- Apply for temporary service connections
- Interpret drawings and specifications and communicate directions to site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensure that adequate method statements and risk assessments (RAs) are completed for high-risk activities
- Request outstanding information from the professional team and confirm all verbal instructions
- Assist with ensuring all necessary approvals are in place to allow the project to progress without risk (e.g., Hording Licence)
- Review buildability and identify methods of construction with commercial or programme advantage where possible
- With the Environmental Co-ordinator implement environmental controls and work towards the objectives set out in the HSE plan (Civils)
- Attend site meetings, subcontractor and internal meetings - maintain and circulate notes and action points

Experience

- Pharmaceutical project experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with colleagues, clients and third parties, in a warm and persuasive way both formally and informally and able to alter style and method to suit audience
- Proven track record of at least ten years within a construction management environment with a similar National/Regional Contractor, with a strong track record of high HSEQS standards
- Strong analytical skills
- Organised with good time management and capable of proactive planning
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all the trades required on site, the codes of practice relating to them, and the requirements for them to be able to carry out required works

Qualifications

- Working towards an academic and/or a professional industry-related qualification
- CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, & S5 Q10 internal workshops
- First Aid at work Certificate
- Lifting Supervisor
- Driving Licence
- Degree or Diploma in a Construction related Subject is desirable
