Duty Manager
to oversee the daily operations of our gym, fitness classes, astro turf, and sports halls. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys leading teams, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily operations across the gym, fitness classes, astro turf, and sports halls, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficient resource use.
* Possess detailed technical knowledge of all aspects of the dry side environment.
* Supervise and support staff, ensuring high service standards and a positive working environment.
* Coordinate staff rotas, cover peak hours, and organise regular training sessions ensuring staff qualifications and certifications are current
* Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address any issues.
* Assist with general cleaning, maintain and coordinate repairs for gym equipment and sports facilities.
* Promote health and fitness through marketing campaigns, special offers, surveys and membership incentives.
* Work towards financial targets and collaborate with the Centre Manager on action plans.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and enforce facility rules.
* Deliver gym and fitness classes training courses
* Organize and lead regular staff training sessions and meetings.
* Conduct disciplinary meetings when required, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
* Enforce safety rules, centre standards, and emergency response procedures.
* Officiate events and address customer service concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels.
* Support Pool Side Duty Manager and cover responsibilities as required.
* Teach swimming lessons and lifeguard as required
* Administer First Aid when necessary.
* Undertake any training necessary for professional development.
Specialist Areas
* Gym & Fitness: Oversee gym operations, run fitness classes and personal/private training sessions, develop promotions, ensure instructor certifications, and organize group fitness classes.
* Astro Turf & Sports Halls: Manage bookings, coordinate leagues and events, and build partnerships with local sports clubs and community groups.
* Customer Service & Admin: Handle customer inquiries, manage bookings, oversee incident reporting, maintain procedural manuals, and officiate events as needed.
What We Are Looking For
* Strong leadership and organizational skills.
* Experience in gym, fitness, or sports facility management.
* Lifeguard and Swim teacher certified.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings and weekends.
What We Offer
* Hours: 40 hours per week. (Incl breaks)
* Pay: €20.50 – €21.50 per hour, paid weekly.
* Leave: 23 days annual leave, plus public holiday entitlements.
