Retail Assistant –Pro Shop
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Retail Assistant to join our Pro Shop team. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated by targets, enjoys building strong relationships with high-end clientele, and takes pride in driving retail performance within a premium golf club environment.
The Retail Assistant will play a key role in maximising Pro Shop revenue through proactive selling, exceptional customer engagement, and effective stock management.
Key Responsibilities
* Actively drive sales by engaging members and guests, identifying needs, and recommending premium products
* Work towards daily, weekly, and seasonal sales targets, contributing directly to the club's retail performance
* Upsell and cross-sell across apparel, equipment, and accessories to maximise transaction value
* Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently promote brands and new arrivals
* Support stock control, including monitoring stock levels, managing replenishment, and minimising stock loss
* Ensure the Pro Shop is commercially merchandised to encourage impulse and high-value purchases
* Assist with promotions, seasonal campaigns, and retail initiatives to boost turnover
About You
* Sales-driven with a proactive, confident approach to customer engagement
* Comfortable working to targets and contributing to revenue growth
* Previous retail or sales experience preferred, ideally in a premium or sports-focused environment
* Highly organised with a strong understanding of stock management and merchandising
* Professional, personable, and able to build rapport with a high-end membership base
* An interest in golf or the golf retail industry would be a strong advantage
Hours
* Winter months: minimum of 16 hours per week
* Summer months: minimum of 28 hours per week
