A leading global medtech company is seeking an experienced R&D Tax Accountant to join their Engineering & Technology Development team in Limerick. This newly created role will take ownership of the company's R&D tax credit and grant incentive submissions, acting as the subject matter expert on Irish tax relief schemes including R&D tax credits, Knowledge Development Box (KDB), capital allowances, and government grants (Revenue, IDA, EI). Offering a hybrid working model (min. 3 days onsite) and flexible hours, this role is ideal for someone with a strong tax or finance background, preferably from a regulated manufacturing or technology-driven industry. This role will be an inital 12 month contract. Key Responsibilities Lead preparation and submission of R&D tax credit and grant claims Act as primary contact for Revenue, IDA, and Enterprise Ireland on audit and compliance matters Guide internal teams on eligible spend and incentive structuring Track claims and funding forecasts across multiple projects Maintain audit-ready documentation and stay up to date with legislative changes Partner with Engineering, Legal, and external advisors to ensure robust and compliant submissions Person Specification & Qualifications Degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or related field (essential) 3-5+ years' experience in tax advisory, financial reporting, or incentive funding in Ireland In-depth knowledge of Irish R&D tax credits, KDB, and grant funding frameworks Experience in a highly regulated or innovation-led industry (e.g., MedTech, AgriTech, Pharma, Semiconductors) Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualification (preferred but not essential) Skills: Tax Accountant Industry
