Job Description
As a Database Administrator, you will be configuring, maintaining, and optimizing operational and reporting databases to align with the environment strategy. This includes engaging in capacity planning to ensure sufficient system resources, monitoring database size and health, and creating and managing plans for statistics and index maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Successfully complete all required job training, including Epic EHR certification, within six months of employment and keep certifications up to date
* Configuring and maintaining databases according to the environment strategy
* Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
* Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
* Applying RDMS, InterSystems IRIS, and updates to production and non-production environments
* Managing logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
* Performing database backups and verifying restores
* Participating in Change Control processes for all planned applications and technical activities
* Ensuring Epic EMR database changes are communicated to necessary teams across the enterprise
* Working closely with other databases, environment/infrastructure, and internal/external enterprise security teams
* Providing on-call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues
Requirements
* Degree qualified in a relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience
* Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
* Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance
