We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Cardiac Physiologist with ECHO accreditation to join our team in Sligo. This position offers flexibility to work on a locum basis or as a 12-month fixed term contract, either full-time or part-time. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality diagnostic cardiac investigations, with a strong focus on echocardiography, while supporting the delivery of excellent patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform and report on a wide range of echocardiography procedures, including transthoracic and, where applicable, stress and transoesophageal studies. Conduct additional non-invasive cardiac investigations such as ECGs, Holter monitoring, and exercise tolerance testing as required. Ensure accurate documentation, analysis, and reporting of all test results. Contribute to the development of cardiac services within the department. Support and mentor junior colleagues and trainees. Maintain high standards of patient care and safety in line with professional guidelines and hospital policies. Participate in departmental audits, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement initiatives. Requirements BSc in Clinical Measurement Science, equivalent qualification, or recognised overseas equivalent. EACVI (or equivalent) accreditation in Echocardiography. Proven post-graduate experience in cardiac diagnostics, with a particular focus on echocardiography. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to continued professional development and keeping up to date with advancements in cardiac diagnostics. Desirable Experience in teaching, mentoring, or supervising junior staff.
