· Support the Catering Manager in the smooth running and planning of all aspects of the catering department.
· Contribute to fostering a positive and professional working environment.
· Assist in the supervision and coordination of catering and dining room staff.
· Help manage staff issues as they arise, such as sick leave cover.
· Assist the Catering Manager in the development and implementation of departmental policies and practices.
· Ensure adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene standards, including HACCP requirements.
· Help with ordering stock when needed, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
· Assist the Catering Manager in budget monitoring and cost-control measures.
· Help develop new healthy eating options, particularly for residents with special dietary needs.
· Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting daily meals for residents, staff, and visitors.
· Assist in the planning, preparation and delivery of catering at special functions (e.g., funerals, anniversaries, workshops).
· Liaise with the Catering Manager on stock management, including weekly stock takes and record keeping.
· Perform TMS (time management system) duties when required.
· Deputise for the Catering Manager during periods of absence.
· Ability to deliver a high standard of customer service members and visitors.
· Undertake training courses relevant to the role.
· Undertake any other duties that may be required for the effective operation of the catering establishment.
