You’d be joining us at a very exciting time. We pride ourselves on our ambitious and forward‑thinking approach to taking care of Gateshead and its people, and we passionately believe that our employees reflect that spirit in truly enabling Gateshead to thrive. About The Role

As a Mechanical Team Leader, you’ll manage a team to ensure that all mechanical, plumbing, gas and HVAC planned maintenance programmes and all reactive mechanical maintenance works are delivered on time and within budget across Gateshead Council’s portfolio of buildings. You’ll bring specific experience in mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems and hold a minimum of an HNC or equivalent qualification in a Building Services (M&E) related subject.

The role also includes having financial and budget responsibility for the Building Maintenance Mechanical department, providing budgets and estimates and technical advice to clients and other stakeholders. You will be part of a team responsible for all aspects of health and safety management to comply with current legislation, including CDM Regulations, and promoting a culture of good health and safety.
