Purpose of the Post
To provide leadership and coordination to wards and specialty teams regarding patient discharge at Naas General Hospital. The role involves developing discharge policies and procedures to facilitate timely and seamless patient discharge to appropriate follow-up care, monitoring bottlenecks in the process, and supporting effective discharge planning at ward level.
Eligibility Criteria
Professional Qualifications & Experience
* Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann, or eligible for registration.
* At least 5 years post-registration experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the relevant specialty or related area.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to perform the role effectively.
Additional Requirements:
* Maintain live annual registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Confirm annual registration via the Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
* Be fully competent and capable of performing the duties of the role and in good health.
* Of good character.
Post Specific Requirements
Demonstrated experience in Acute Nursing and proactive discharge planning relevant to the role.
