Health & Safety Manager
PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Health and Safety Manager to take overall responsibility for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the health and safety management system Company wide.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all operations are carried out in strict compliance with the Health & Safety Authority, our own internal standards and industry best practice. This is an operational role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to embed a culture of safety excellence across all levels of the organisation whilst maintaining a hands-on approach.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, implement, and maintain robust health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems tailored to our unique manufacturing setting.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety Authority regulations
* Track safety performance KPIs, Frequency Rates, Observations, Good Catches.
* Recommend process improvements to reduce hazards and environmental impacts.
* Lead and oversee risk assessments, process safety reviews, and hazard identification studies across the entire business.
* Manage audits, inspections, and monitoring programmes to verify standards and regulatory compliance including SDS development and roll out.
* Responsible for ensuring compliance is maintained across all sites (both inhouse and externally).
* Lead investigations into incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Provide expert guidance and training to management and operational teams on health and safety matters.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and third-party stakeholders as required.
* Drive the development of a strong safety culture through engagement, communication, and visible leadership.
* Prepare and present regular performance reports to the senior leadership team.
* Manage Health & Safety improvement projects.

REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum qualification at Degree level in Health & Safety & Welfare at Work and previous experience in a compliance capacity a distinct advantage.
* In-depth knowledge of HSA, safety, chemical and process safety legislation and standards.
* Significant experience in a health and safety management role preferably within chemical manufacturing or process industries. (5years min)
* Previous experience delivering ISO 45001 & 14001 essential.
* Proven experience managing Safety Data Sheet compliance, a distinct advantage.
* Proven leadership, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
* Demonstrated experience in risk management, process safety, and incident investigation methodologies.
* Working Visa and permit for Ireland.
* Excellent command of English language, both written an oral.
* Strong IT Skills with a working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, with proficiency of creating pivot tables, formulas etc in MS Excel and Company databases.
