Enterprise Networking is responsible for designing, scaling and operating the network infrastructure that enables Amazonians to connect to the corporate network in order to operate the business.
Our network layers are divided into 2 large spaces: the DataCenter Corporate Networks inclusive of Controls Network infrastructure, and CorpNet which refers to the office network serving hundreds of thousands of Amazonians worldwide.
We are looking for a principal engineer with expertise, ambition, and passion for solving complex problems in distributed systems with a relentless drive to improve our services continuously.
You will be working on AWS's hardest problems, building high-quality, architecturally sound systems aligned with our business needs.
As an AWS principal technical contributor, you are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions.
Your expertise is deep and broad, hands-on, producing detailed technical work and high-level architectural designs but driven to engage with business problems and leaders to invent simple solutions with real-world applications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• BS degree or higher in CS with a minimum of 12 years of relevant, broad distributed systems engineering experience
• Proven track record of leading the delivery and operations of large-scale distributed systems
• Deep hands-on technical expertise in at least two relevant technical areas: Networking, Distributed Systems, Network Design, or Capacity planning
• Experience building and launching complex projects with significant impact
• Experience playing a technical leadership role within a large organization along with a passion for people mentorship and developing great talent
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and Agile development environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills along with exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, asynchronous architectures, and distributed algorithms
• Experience building with native AWS/Cloud services
