Summary:
Our client, a pharmaceutical company in Co. Tipperary, is seeking a
Senior Automation & Digital Systems Lead
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting the technical team responsible for the delivery of the Digital systems, mainly ABB DCS, PLC systems, MES, PI, I&C, ICT and CSV areas. The successful candidate will ensure the effective deployment, maintenance, integration, and optimisation of digital technologies and platforms to support business operations and strategic objectives
Responsibilities:
* Act as the central point of contact for all digital systems-related technical activities, coordinating between different workstreams under the client's Digital Capital Project Umbrella.
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee the deployment and integration of digital systems, including software applications, control systems, and data platforms.
* Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for digital systems issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
* Manage routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades of digital systems to ensure security, compliance, and functionality.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and user manuals.
* Deliver training sessions and support materials to end-users and technical staff to maximise system utilisation and efficiency.
* Ensure digital systems comply with organisational policies, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
* Liaise with software vendors, service providers, and contractors to coordinate support, licensing, and service agreements.
* Identify opportunities to enhance digital systems capabilities, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
* Ensure Automation compliance with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
* Experience working on ABB DCS, PLC systems, DeltaV, MES, PI, I&C, ICT, etc, preferably in API Manufacturing.
* Working knowledge of Project Planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS planner online.
* Relevant Project Manager or Project Engineer experience.
* Proficiency with relevant digital tools and platforms specific to the industry (e.g., SCADA, MES, ERP, cloud services).
* Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, cybersecurity certifications) are a plus.
