Purpose of the Role The Senior Dietitian will lead and deliver a high-quality nutrition and dietetic service across Talbot Group services, supporting residents and service users with complex nutritional needs.
The role will involve assessment, intervention, clinical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, staff education and development of nutrition-related policies and best practice.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Carry out comprehensive nutritional assessments for adults and children across services Develop, implement and review nutritional care plans Support complex feeding needs, malnutrition, enteral feeding, dysphagia, weight management and specialist diets Work closely with families, carers and staff to implement nutritional interventions Participate in MDT reviews and case conferences Support clinical governance and evidence-based practice Leadership Provide specialist advice to staff and managers Support development of nutrition policies, procedures and standards Contribute to audits, quality improvement and service development Provide mentoring and support to colleagues where required Training Deliver nutrition education to frontline staff Support safe food practices and therapeutic diet implementation Contribute to induction and ongoing learning programmes Leadership Maintain records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements Support HIQA compliance in nutrition-related standards Participate in safeguarding and risk management processes Essential Requirement CORU registration as a Dietitian Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience Experience managing complex nutritional needs Strong MDT working skills Excellent communication and leadership ability Full clean driving licence and access to transport Desirable Experience in disability services Experience with enteral feeding / dysphagia / complex care Knowledge of HIQA standards Benefits Competitive salary Pension Continuous professional development Career progression opportunities Supportive multidisciplinary environment Skills: dietician communication team work
