The Salthill Hotel has an exciting job opportunity for a hospitality-focused individual. The role of the Night Manager involves overseeing the Night Porter team and assisting with their night-time duties. This key position includes setting up function rooms and meeting rooms, ensuring hotel cleanliness, and demonstrating a hands-on approach to work during night hours.

Duties Include:
1. Present yourself and ensure all night porter team members are in correct uniform.
2. Comply with all hotel policies and procedures.
3. Train new night porters and assist in updating SOPs as needed.
4. Document any issues during the night shift and communicate them to the team.
5. Ensure accurate inputting of all departmental and procedural accounting tasks.
6. Enter wedding bills and room charges correctly and file appropriately.
7. Manage all stages of Night Audit, including system turnover and report filing.
8. Liaise with front office, night team, and other departments to resolve inter-departmental issues.
9. Oversee smooth night shift operations on the desk, including customer service and call handling.
10. Develop positive working relationships and deliver high standards of service.
11. Ensure RSA compliance (e.g., closing times) and assist the bar when needed.
12. Ensure night porters perform their duties as per job descriptions, adhere to rosters, and follow working time directives.
13. Report maintenance faults to reception.
14. Complete safety walks and log findings, highlighting concerns for the day team.
15. Ensure all night workers complete their tasks timely and are signed out at shift end.
16. Remain vigilant and report suspicious activities or intruders.
17. Perform manual tasks such as cleaning, moving furniture, and setting up rooms.
18. Answer the switchboard professionally, greeting guests by name.
19. Document issues from previous shifts, including guest complaints and staff queries.
20. Maintain high standards at the front desk.
21. Record late arrivals and new reservations.
22. Collaborate closely with reception to meet customer needs.
23. Perform any other reasonable requests by management.
Experience and Skills:
* Ability to multitask and assist across all hotel areas.
* Experience with hotel front office systems is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good presentation and attention to detail.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken).
