Job Description
We are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our technical delivery operations, develop our engineering team, and ensure the highest standards of quality and performance across all projects. This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing organisation. The role reports directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
As an Engineering Manager at Fort Energy, you will:
Leadership and Management
* Lead, mentor and develop a team of energy engineers.
* Manage and resource all consultancy, design and project management work.
* Plan, schedule and forecast workloads to ensure smooth delivery.
* Report weekly to the CEO on delivery performance, risks and operational priorities.
* Develop, document and improve delivery, quality and safety processes.
* Peer-review technical work to ensure high-quality outputs.
Technical Delivery
* Plan and carry out detailed energy audits across buildings, building services and industrial processes using meters, loggers and specialist software.
* Identify, analyse and prioritise energy-saving opportunities based on feasibility, cost-effectiveness and client objectives.
* Produce clear, accurate and comprehensive technical reports and energy models.
* Present findings and recommendations to clients and address their questions.
* Project manage the implementation of energy efficiency measures, working closely with engineers, contractors, suppliers and utility partners.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, standards and best practices.
* Maintain professional certifications and accreditations in energy auditing and engineering accreditation.
About You - Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
* A bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, energy management, or a related field.
* A minimum of
6+ years of experience
in conducting energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities.
- A certification or
accreditation in energy auditing,
such as BPI, CEM, CEA or LEED.
- Registered with SEAI as an Energy Auditor
(or eligible for registration).
- Strong understanding of HVAC, lighting, controls, water and industrial systems.
- Proficiency in energy modelling and the ability to build custom models where required.
- Full driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated, flexible and passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
- Have the right to work in Ireland
