MJ Scannell Safety is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our growing international supply chain team. This role requires a commercially astute professional with a solid background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cross-border procurement operations.You will play a key role in optimising our global supplier base, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring the timely, compliant, and sustainable sourcing of materials and products across multiple regions.This is a strategic and technical role suited to a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and understands the complexities of international trade, logistics, and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Procurement & SourcingManage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, negotiation, and contract award for both domestic and international suppliers.Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) and landed cost analyses to optimise global sourcing decisions.Develop and implement category management strategies aligned with company objectives.Supplier & Contract ManagementEvaluate, onboard, and maintain relationships with international suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.Negotiate commercial terms, service-level agreements (SLAs), and long-term framework contracts.Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.Data, Reporting & SystemsUtilise ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for purchase order management, supplier data maintenance, and spend analytics.Prepare and analyse procurement and supply chain performance reports to support data-driven decision-making.Use advanced Excel or Power BI to develop dashboards and identify trends in cost, lead time, and supplier performance.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical sourcing practices.Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, logistical, and currency exposure.Support sustainability, ESG, and modern slavery compliance reporting.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with internal stakeholders across operations, sales, logistics, and finance to align procurement objectives with business goals.Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery.Requirements3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally within an international or multi-site organisation.Proven experience managing supplier relationships and contracts across multiple regions.Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.Proficiency in ERP procurement modules (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel / Power BI reporting.Understanding of incoterms, import/export regulations, and international logistics.Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.Experience with tenders, framework agreements, or public procurement processes is an advantage.Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Administration (CIPS certification preferred).SkillsStrategic Procurement & Sourcing Supplier & Contract Management Data, Reporting & Systems Compliance & Risk Management Cross-Functional CollaborationBenefitsPaid Holidays Parking Annual Bonus
