We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Music Therapist to join our clinical team at Saint Doolaghs Park House Dublin 17, D17 CY54.Do you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.The successful candidate will deliver both individual and group sessions using music therapy techniques to support movement, communication, cognition, social engagement, emotional wellbeing, and overall rehabilitation for clients with neurological needs.This is a part time role for 4 hours two days per week.Responsibilities 1.Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning Conduct note taking assessments to identify clients strengths, needs, and goal areas.Use music as a medium to achieve non-musical therapeutic outcomes, guided by neuroscientific and person-centred principles.2.Individual Music Therapy Sessions Deliver one-to-one sessions that may target: Communication goals: supporting individuals with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, or non-verbal communication needs through structured musical interventions.Cognitive goals: attention (sustained, selective, alternating, divided), memory skills, executive function, problem-solving, and information processing.Emotional wellbeing: facilitating self-expression, emotional processing, and psychological support through musical improvisation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and other therapeutic techniques.3.Group Music Therapy Sessions Facilitate group sessions (typically 68 participants) for clients whose needs are appropriately met in a group setting.Create a therapeutic group environment that fosters connection, motivation, and shared progress.4.Collaborative & Administrative Duties Work closely with other health and social care professionals to ensure integrated support for clients.Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports reflecting outcomes and clinical changes.Participate in service planning to determine the optimal use of allocated time and resources for each partner service.Engage in ongoing professional development and uphold best-practice standards in music therapy and NMT.Qualifications & Requirements Recognised qualification in Music Therapy (Bachelors or Masters degree).Certification or eligibility for certification in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) (training can be ongoing).Strong musicianship skills (voice or instrumental proficiency).Experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, or complex clinical needs is advantageous.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and reflective practice skills.
