Job Description
As a Resident Engineer – Water, you will oversee the supervision and management of projects to deliver new and upgrade water network improvements in the North East of Ireland; in Meath, Westmeath, Longford and Louth.
Due to ongoing contract awards, this organization has a requirement for a Resident Engineer to work on water projects in the region. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in either the design or construction of watermain upgrades and rehabilitation techniques, leakage repair etc.
As a Civil Resident Engineer – Water, your responsibilities will include:
1. Working alongside contractors to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with the Contract and legislation.
2. Liaising with local authorities in delivering projects.
3. Carrying out health, safety, quality and environmental audits and managing related issues.
4. Processing work orders.
5. Service Request Approval.
6. Updating project trackers.
7. Reviewing and approval of as laid drawings.
8. Working with IW Design Engineers to provide clarity on project delivery.
9. Deal with complaints.
10. Provide feedback to Regional Leads and IW.
11. Attend and manage meetings with contractors and IW.
12. Keeping accurate records.
13. Creating lists of snags and signing off when complete.
14. Visiting sites before works commence to identify potential problems and providing findings to IW Design Engineers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will have:
* At least 5 years' satisfactory postgraduate experience in onsite supervision, site engineering of civil engineering works, to include water projects.
* A Degree in a related discipline, such as Civil Engineering.
* The ability to write clear and concise reports and keep accurate works records.
* Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
* A current and valid SafePass card is essential, Confined Spaces training would be desirable.
