Laboratory Manager – Microbiology | Pharma Client | Cashel
Our pharma client based in Cashel is looking for a Laboratory Manager – Microbiology to join their team. This is a leadership role in a growing organisation, responsible for developing microbiology testing processes, managing laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and setup of the Microbiology Laboratory.
* Oversee microbiology testing processes and infrastructure.
* Manage method and specification-related change controls.
* Handle microbiology investigations and technical transfers.
* Oversee contract laboratory testing and liaise with regulatory authorities.
* Work cross-functionally to maintain compliance and streamline processes.
* Develop next-level leadership within the Quality Control and Analytical R&D teams.
* Support strategic expansion of inhalation microbiology capabilities with global teams.
* Identify efficiency improvements in quality control operations and develop KPIs.
What You Need:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology.
* 10+ years’ experience in a Microbiology Laboratory environment.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role (Supervisor/Manager level).
* Strong knowledge of microbiology testing and regulatory standards.
* Excellent organisation, time management, and leadership skills.
* Experience in internal audits and compliance.
* Strong communication and presentation skills for team training.
* Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
