The successful candidate will be r esponsible for the production and reporting of Financial Accounts and regulatory requirements for the Group, including Annual Financial Statements and Monthly Financial Results.

What will you do: Support the timely delivery of the monthly close of the general ledger and sub-ledgers, ensuring appropriate financial controls are maintained Prepare and review postings to multi-company ledgers and group consolidated accounts Prepare and review intercompany journals and ensure intercompany balances are accurate and reconciled Complete and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations Ensure all accounting entries are accurate and compliant with relevant accounting and reporting standards Prepare monthly management accounts Assist with the preparation and review of monthly Group and Insurance Business consolidated financial reports to strict deadlines Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and required disclosures for group entities Provide delivery-focused support to Solvency II reporting and other regulatory requirements Ensure work is performed in line with requirements of applicable supervisory bodies and internal control frameworks Liaise with external auditors in support of interim and year-end audit processes, including Solvency II reviews Contribute to system, reporting and process improvements, including support for change initiatives as required Undertake ad hoc finance and reporting activities to support the Group Reporting Team What you need to be successful: Education & Experience Qualified financial accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of relevant accounting standards Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and supervisory reporting requirements Proven experience in a financial control environment Proven accounting background with a strong track record of delivery Experience in the insurance sector is desirable but not essential Solid understanding of systems, controls and implementation environments Proven ability to manage workload and deliver to strict deadlines Interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good knowledge of insurance business concepts; Solvency II experience is an advantage Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior management Commercially minded with strong problem-solving and analytical capability Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong focus on seeing tasks through to completion Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values What we offer As a member of the Vhi team, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes: Competitive salary Annual bonus Pension Health insurance for you and your family Income protection in the event of illness Hybrid working model Ongoing training and development Onsite restaurant Parking facilities (Kilkenny only) Sports and social club In addition, Vhi offers a range of services and programs designed to support your physical, mental, and emotional health.
