Description
In this role, you will design and develop learning experiences that directly support the growth and success of Amazon's global data center workforce. You will work backwards from the needs of our learners from Day 1 onboarding through career development to deliver thoughtful, effective, and engaging training solutions. This is a full-time (five day) office position.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), Program Managers, and business stakeholders to analyze learning needs and design solutions that drive measurable behavior change.
Design and develop a variety of learning formats including web-based training, instructor‑led training, job aids, how‑to videos, and hands‑on practical assessments.
Apply Agile and ADDIE methodologies to manage the full content development lifecycle, from analysis and design through development, implementation, and evaluation.
Translate complex technical data center concepts into clear, accessible learning content for a diverse, global audience.
Collaborate with the Full Time Training (FTT) team, Learning Advocate community, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Checklist Validators, to ensure content accuracy and quality.
Use data and learner feedback to continuously improve existing content and identify gaps in the learning portfolio.
Support the self‑service content development mechanism by coaching SMEs through the LXD process and workflow.
Manage multiple concurrent projects across the full development lifecycle, tracking progress, communicating status to stakeholders, and delivering quality content on time and within scope.
Apply AI‑assisted design tools and workflows to accelerate content development, improve personalization, and enhance the overall learner experience.
Create visually compelling learning assets, including graphics, illustrations, and multimedia elements, that reinforce learning objectives and engage a global audience.
A day in the life
Your day starts catching up on emails, Slacks, and tickets that came up overnight. Once you ensure nothing is on fire, you plan your day, craft a to‑do list, and figure out your focus time blocks. This is when you can push forward on your sprint deliverables, designing graphics, editing video, drafting interactions, or evaluating your existing training solutions through feedback and metrics. Or you dedicate some time to your stretch project, figuring out a new feature or strategy for the team. The day is split between balancing commitments for meetings, documentation, and tickets, with focused design work in a wide array of methodologies and modalities.
Basic Qualifications
Experience designing and developing training materials in all modalities including ILT, e‑learning and video.
Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
Experience with project management.
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
3+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and reporting.
Experience in delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer.
Knowledge of general AI tools.
Experience in front‑end web development.
