The Organisation:
Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community-based services to people with intellectual disabilities in West Dublin, North Kildare and Meath.
We support people with a wide range of support needs across residential settings, day services, supported independent living, job advocacy and vocational training.
Purpose of the Post:
As a member of the Resident Services Team, Care Staff work to enhance the lives of Residents. They must work effectively with all staff directly involved with the residents of Stewarts Care.
These roles require flexibility to work days, evenings, waking nights, and weekends.
About Richmond House:
Richmond House, Enfield is part of our Resident Services Department and requires Team Members who are committed to fostering an environment that promotes Emotional Regulation, Positive Family Interaction, Consistency in Care and Adherence to Positive Support Plans (PBS)
Staff should be enthusiastic about supporting the residents' independence, individuality, and wellbeing; while ensuring they have ample opportunities to access their local community.
Specific Role Responsibilities for Richmond House:
* Supporting residents to engage meaningfully in the community
* Providing care in accordance with evidence-based practices for intellectual and physical disabilities, mental health and behavioural support.
* Assisting during episodes of behaviours of concern and working with multidisciplinary teams to identify triggers and develop strategies to reduce anxiety and improve wellbeing
Staff in this designated centre receive comprehensive training, including:
* Core competency training
* Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
* Total Communication
* Autism Awareness
* Epilepsy Awareness
* Safe Administration of Medication for non-nursing staff

Candidates must meet the following criteria relevant to the role:
* Minimum QQI Level 5 (Healthcare Support) or SKILL-VEC Level 5 (or working towards).
* A strong desire to work with persons with an intellectual disability.
* The aptitude to provide a person-centred approach to service user programmes.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and non-verbal.
* Experience supporting individuals on the Autism Spectrum who use non-verbal methods of communication is essential for this role
* Be Flexible to meet the needs of the organisation.
* Full Manual Driver's licence and a willingness to drive during work hours is an essential requirement for this role
Salary and qualifications are in accordance with Department of Health consolidated pay scales. Salary Scale is Care Assistant €34,036-€47,454 incl LSI per annum.
