Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all conference delegate requirements are provided efficiently, including equipment and food & beverage refreshment breaks.
* Set up meeting rooms for the next meeting or event correctly as per the function sheet, once approved by conference and events.
* Clear all meeting and function rooms as soon as possible after a finished event or meeting, removing all food and beverage from conference areas prior to the end of the conference shift.
* Keep all areas in the conference and banqueting department tidy and cleaned to required standards.
* Clean and vacuum all rooms throughout the day.
* Communicate effectively with other departments in the hotel.
* Carry out duties to assist other departments, including (but not limited to) room service, guest luggage, guest queries or maintenance issues.
* Report any maintenance problems to the relevant department.
* Maintain the porters’ store in clean, orderly fashion and fully stocked.
* Participate in training provided by the company.
* Assist with any reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor or manager.
* Establish and promote excellent relations with guests, ensuring their expectations are met.
* Promote a sense of team spirit within the Conference department and with all other departments.
* Maintain all aspects of conferencing and the standards of presentation and service.
* Be flexible regarding working hours to handle any unexpected requirements.
* Wear a clean and correct uniform at all times, including footwear and name badge, and adhere to dress and appearance standards set by the hotel.
* Adhere to the health and safety regulations set by the hotel.
* Be fully aware of and adhere to the fire evacuation procedures.
