My client, an SME based in D8, has a requirement for an experienced accounts assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, financial administration, and accounting software. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations, maintaining accurate records, and supporting management with timely reporting.
This role is Hybrid but will be office based in probation while you learn the business.
What you will do
* Review supplier invoices and issue for authorisation
* Set up supplier accounts
* Process invoices into NetSuite
* Ensure the correct VAT treatment for invoices across multiple countries
* Prepare and process monthly, weekly and ad hoc payment runs
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Correspond with vendors in response to enquiries
* Correspond with other business functions to resolve queries
* Resolve invoice discrepancies
* Support monthly account reconciliations including bank statement, prepayments, accruals and fixed assets
* Prepare and file tax returns
* Month end AP reports
* Deal with auditor queries
* Assist with projects and process improvements
What skills you need
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
* Qualified accounts technician or working towards this qualification
* Prior experience in preparing accounts to trial balance
* Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
* Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
* Experience with NetSuite/Oracle is an advantage
