Switchboard Operator
Part‑time Switchboard Operator position at Sheraton Athlone Hotel. The role reports to the Front Office Manager and requires a friendly, outgoing personality to engage with guests and build strong relationships. Must be available for at least 30 hours per week and be open to training for Reception cover.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for guests calling the hotel – provide a warm welcome and efficient greeting.
* Answer all calls in a timely and friendly manner.
* Transfer calls as appropriate.
* Provide guests with details of hotel and local amenities and attractions.
* Work as part of, and support, the Reception Team.
* Follow day‑to‑day guest procedures.
* Deal with and resolve guest queries.
* Maintain excellent organisational skills.
Skills & Experience
* Previous switchboard/reception experience (desirable).
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
* Fluent written and spoken English (essential).
* Willingness to work shifts and weekends.
* Excellent telephone manner.
