The ideal candidate will be very experienced in front of house in restaurants and unfazed by very busy services.Key AreasOverseeing day-to-day Food & Beverage operations across restaurant, bar, and eventsLeading and supporting front-of-house teams during serviceEnsuring exceptional guest experience in line with brand standardsCoordinating with kitchen, bar, and events teams to maintain seamless operationsDriving service standards, team development, and revenue performanceJob PurposeThe Food and Beverage Duty Manager plays a critical operational and leadership role. This position ensures the smooth running of daily F&B service, including restaurant, bar, and event operations, by overseeing teams, maintaining service quality, and upholding brand and health standards.Acting as the senior on-shift presence, the Duty Manager leads by example, engages directly with guests, manages team performance, and coordinates back-of-house communication to deliver an elevated and memorable dining experience.Key DeliverablesTeam Leadership & Shift ManagementSupervise and support F&B staff during service, ensuring high levels of performance and team moraleManage shift briefings, task allocation, and real-time problem-solvingCoach, mentor, and develop team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvementOversee scheduling, timekeeping, and team resourcing based on business levelsSupport training initiatives, onboarding, and implementation of new service standardsGuest Experience & Service ExcellenceAct as a visible and approachable floor leader, ensuring guest satisfaction at every touchpointHandle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and empathyMonitor ambiance, cleanliness, and overall service presentation during shiftsEngage guests with genuine hospitality and uphold brand standards at all timesEnsure smooth table management, reservations, and hosting practicesOperational CoordinationEnsure accurate and timely pass expedition by liaising with kitchen and bar teamsMonitor food and beverage presentation and quality before delivery to guestsUse POS systems (e.g., Micros) for smooth billing and end-of-day reconciliationMaintain clear communication across all departments during serviceCoordinate F&B operations with events, private dining, and hotel-wide functionsCompliance, Inventory & StandardsEnforce food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations in all F&B areasConduct daily inspections of restaurant, bar, and service stations to ensure readinessAssist in inventory control, ordering, and cost managementUphold compliance with internal SOPs, licensing laws, and operational policiesPreferred Experience & Skills2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial F&B role within a high-end hospitality environmentStrong leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building skillsIn-depth knowledge of F&B service, food safety practices, and operational proceduresExperience with hospitality systems (OpenTable, Micros, or similar)Proactive approach during busy service periodBenefits:Global discounted staff room rates across the group50% off Food and 25% Beverage across the groupIncreased Annual Leave with ServiceFriends and Family discountGym Membership Discounts*Continual training and developmentCareer progression within the GroupGratuities *Meals on shift (Monday - Wednesday)Bike to work schemeTaxsaver for travelRefer a friend schemeWellness at work events and access to wellness platformEmployment Assistance ProgrammeGroup discounts for cinema tickets, shopping deals etcTeam appreciation daysService recognitionRegular fun-filled activities and gatherings for all teams across the groupApplicable to certain positionsDean Group owns and operates a number of hotel across Ireland, in certain instances we may feel your skills and experience may suit another role we have available.
