The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UE IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business. The Build & Delivery Team’s responsibilities span across solution architecture, applications, infrastructure, technical delivery and supplier management and performance. The IT Build & Delivery teams have a pivotal role to play in the implementation of new solutions, applications and infrastructure for the organisation, working closely with the wider IT teams and Business Change.
Reporting to the Applications Manager, the IT Projects Lead will be responsible for ensuring the direct delivery of business changes to IT applications. The IT Projects Lead will be required to work closely with the various teams in IT Operations and external resources/suppliers to deliver business requirements. The role requires strong experience in maintaining and enhancing enterprise and business applications, and candidates will ideally come from a utility background.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Act as a key IT enabler for the success of Applications project delivery,
* Manage and oversee the delivery of a portfolio of Applications Projects in conjunction with the Business Change teams, business stakeholders, internal and external resource/service providers and all other stakeholders, as required
* Engage with the wider Uisce Éireann business, the various IT Operations teams and IT business partners to ensure that business requirements are understood, documented, agreed, planned and ultimately met by IT
* Ensure IT activities including impact assessment, design, build, test, implementation, and cutover are completed on time, within scope and budget, and meet the requirements
* Review IT artefacts with project team, business and IT stakeholders, and manage IT approvals for same
* Review solution designs to ensure the delivery of correct, sustainable solutions which enable and enhance business processes together with implementation of industry best practices and Uisce Éireann IT governance procedures
* Responsibility for managing the overall IT implementation and cutover planning, including Go Live preparation and adherence to IT Governance proceduresSupport and act as an IT escalation point for project managers and other IT Leads, as necessary, taking ownership of actions to ensure successful project delivery.
* In line with IT Strategy, IT Lead will be responsible for supporting the stability of IT Applications, maintaining software versions, upgrades, and planning these changes with IT peers/teams and the business. Responsible for raising and progressing PRs/POs, IT CAPEX/OPEX management, supporting the PM with IT Financial activities including resourcing, reviewing gate papers, IT Governance preparation, and Service Transition inputs.

* Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
* Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
* Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
* Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Coordination of project IT activities ensuring quality delivery
* Delivery of a complex project that required input from multiple IT domains
* Experience anticipating project risks and putting in mitigations to avoid
* Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
* Demonstrated people management experience, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
* Experience providing coaching in the development of the technical skills and abilities in others
* Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
* Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
* Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
