Overview
Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work within and assist the commercial and construction team to ensure successful project delivery, maintaining relationships to maximize commercial returns and manage risk.

Responsibilities
1. Familiarity and competency with the functionality of industrial piping and electrical systems.
2. Evaluating and agreeing on project scope variations with both contractor and client.
3. Compiling and agreeing on final accounts.
4. Reporting to the Project Commercial Team.
5. Supporting the SQS & MQS commercial functions, assisting with and taking responsibility for:
6. Preparing tenders, analyzing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiating, and finalizing subcontractor orders, as well as financial and commercial management of subcontractors to Final Account completion.
7. Maintaining site records and document control.
8. Keeping site measurement records.
9. Assisting in the preparation of forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
10. Carrying out valuations.
11. Preparing variations with adequate records and details, and agreeing as works progress.
12. Updating the projected Final Account, preparing, and submitting it in a timely manner.
13. Liaising with and influencing the site management team commercially.
14. Maintaining and protecting JSS's commercial and contractual entitlements.
15. Understanding and actively participating in CVR processes.
16. Reviewing and considering risks and opportunities.
17. Developing an understanding of insurances and warranties.
18. Being actively involved in cash management to ensure good practices.
19. Supporting tender processes as required.
20. Managing and overseeing AQS and TQS, checking and taking responsibility for their work.
21. Maintaining site records and control documents.
Experience
* Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Effectively utilize a range of technology platforms.
* Be fully familiar with the Standard Method of Measurement.
* Show ownership and commercial awareness.
* Exhibit effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level and working toward relevant professional accreditation.
* JCT qualification.
* Proficiency in letter and report writing.
* Negotiation skills.
* Experience with CVRs.
* Two-day safety appreciation training.
* Understanding of contract and commercial aspects.
* CIOB membership or affiliation.
