Offer Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented and dynamic pharmaceutical scientist to join our vaccine formulation team, jointly based in the School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and in the School of Pharmacy, UCC. The research builds on our significant expertise in developing and commercialising novel vaccines and delivery platforms. This project focuses on developing novel formulations and processes to stabilise lipid-nanoparticle based vaccines out of cold chain, in close collaboration with our partners in the Horizon Europe-funded OptiVivax consortium. This project will utilise pharmaceutical methods and principles to enhance the stability of a range of vaccines that rely on lipid-based adjuvants or nanoparticles for their activity. The research requires prior pharmaceutical expertise.

We are seeking an innovative, motivated scientist in the pharmaceutical and vaccine sciences, with an ability to work to a high standard. The scientist must have direct experience of working in vaccine or biopharmaceutical formulation, ideally in a commercial environment. The successful candidate will work within our team and be involved in EU-wide collaborations. The scientist must have excellent communication motivation, planning, organising skills, practical, problem solving, record-keeping skills and the ability to work as part of a team. The scientist must hold a degree in Pharmacy, biomaterials or pharmaceutical field. Preferably, the scientist will have a PhD and a track record in publishing their previous research and/or have experience of working in a commercial environment.
