A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Construction Lead to join our team and contribute to the timely turnover of all mechanical systems.
About the Role
This is an exciting position for a senior member of the Construction Team, responsible for the proper and timely construction of the Mechanical Scope in accordance with company standards.
As a Mechanical Construction Lead, you will oversee the entire process from pre-construction to system turnover, ensuring that projects are constructed to drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, and schedule.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site resources, including construction superintendents, trade supervisors, and sub-contractors. They must have excellent communication skills, multi-disciplinary knowledge, and a deep understanding of biotech/pharma industry requirements.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
* Pre-Construction:
o Detailed review and liaison with design and client workgroup leads model reviews.
o Prepare detailed SOWs for trade contract procurement.
o Assist in preparation of detailed BOQs.
o Prepare and lead constructability reviews.
o Review returned Mechanical bids and prepare TBA.
o Trade and industry knowledge reviews, keeping abreast of developments in the construction industry.
o Development of detailed execution strategies.
o Input into CHSP, QA/TO and all other General Construction Requirement documentation.
o Assist in schedule development, schedule reviews and lead IAPs.
* Post-Construction:
o Ensure that construction phase of projects is adequately provided with suitably capable, qualified and experienced personnel, together with all necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities and other resources.
o Management subcontract including Safety, Schedule, Cost and Quality shall be your main deliverable.
o Engages with the Design, Commissioning and Client teams throughout the project to ensure system turnovers are achieved to scheduled milestones.
o Develops site execution SOP's as guidance to the Field Supervisors.
o Complies with the company construction procedures and practices in all respects, especially those relating to safety, quality assurance, personnel and industrial relations; where these are found to be inadequate immediately reports the deficiencies and suggests solutions.
o Keeps updated of developments in the construction industry and assists in ensuring that the company capability continues to develop and excel.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
* Significant years' experience in a similar role.
* Biotech/pharma industry knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent multi-disciplinary knowledge.
