An exciting opportunity has arisen for an area support nurse to contribute to the clinical needs of clients while also contributing to the overall clinical governance strategy. In this position, you will be part of a clinical team and responsible for overseeing that clients in your area are being provided with safe and effective care. You will work closely with the Client Care Managers who manage their own HSE area. By supporting the Client Care Managers, you will assist them with running their areas and ensure that auditing and compliance checks are completed regularly. You will have the responsibility to take ownership of achieving the highest levels of compliance with regards to regulations, laws, quality standards, and policies whilst ensuring your service receives an outstanding HSE/HIQA inspection.
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications & Experience: Active on the NMBI Register - General Nurse Division, minimum of 3 years' experience in an acute setting, a current full clean driving license, and excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
* Driver's License: Hold a full driving license with access to a car.
* Communication Skills: Good standard of English - both spoken and written.
* Desirable Criteria: Previous experience working within home care, certification in wound care, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to multitask in an ever-changing environment.
* Skills & Qualities: High level of organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize with excellent attention to detail; creative and strategic thinker who can embrace, influence, and communicate improvements; positive and engaging personality capable of building strong working relationships; high self-motivation to work independently.

Main Duties
* Oversee your area to ensure high competence and compliance levels.
* Provide clinical support and assist with complex patient care needs assessments.
* Identify and address service improvements, develop policies, and implement audit processes and patient safety initiatives.
* Develop relationships with service providers, including HSE and private clients, to ensure smooth operations.
* Liaise with stakeholders such as Public Health Nurses and HSE to promote transparency.
* Seek feedback from stakeholders to improve services and achieve positive outcomes.
* Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) weekly and monthly.
* Conduct risk assessments, manage incidents, complaints, safeguarding, and other concerns.
* Ensure HR processes are followed within your area.
* Audit and monitor client and staff files, support wound care and complex needs advice, and contribute to contingency planning.
* Ensure staff training needs are met and identify gaps for improvement.
* Complete weekly reports and contribute to governance meetings.
* Analyze data for patterns and trends.
* Establish and track quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide day-to-day management and leadership for operational teams.
* Ensure compliance with HSE Tender specifications and prepare for HIQA inspections.
* Oversee policy review, development, and implementation.
* Conduct induction and refresher training for staff.
