Overview
Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is looking for
Intermediate Level Civil Engineers / Geotechnical Engineers / Engineering Geologists
to join our team in Naas, Ireland and work on a range of mining related projects, typically the design, monitoring and assessment of water and tailings dams.
The role involves working with an internationally recognised team on projects such as mine infrastructure and tailings facility designs from permitting to closure, hydro-electric and water storage dam designs, geohazard assessments, transportation engineering, seismic assessments, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake a variety of engineering analysis and designs and contribute to practical solutions for challenging conditions.
Contribute to project designs, write technical reports, develop technical specifications and construction drawings and tender packages for major tailings dams, mine waste facilities, containment facilities and mine infrastructure projects.
Gain project management and field experience in site investigation, in-situ and laboratory testing interpretation, and construction monitoring and quality assurance.
Build and develop strong relationships with clients, multidisciplinary project teams, sub-contractors and other stakeholders.

Travel within Europe and to various international project locations for site visits and/or placement rotations.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience, or a Master's Degree / PhD in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering / Soil Mechanics / Engineering Geology with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
Interest in soil mechanics, dam engineering, field and laboratory testing methods; background in geotechnical design and use of geotechnical analysis software, ideally with focus on dams, embankments and slopes, CPTu interpretation, CAD drafting / modelling.
