Job Title: Specialist Therapist
The Specialist Therapist, working within the Palliative Care Team, plays a pivotal role in providing holistic care to patients. This specialized service emerged from the Slaintecare Project's initiative on 'Rehabilitative Palliative Care', sponsored by Prof. Karen Ryan.
Purpose of the Role:
* To provide an occupational therapy service for patients receiving palliative care, including those with cancer services, older persons, COPD, and neurology conditions.
* To form and maintain strong links with community teams and specialist palliative care team services across Ireland.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* The post-holder will be responsible for offering clinical input into the wider occupational therapy service when required to support changing service demands or assist basic-grade therapists as needed.
