Role Overview
The Junior EHS Advisor will support the EHS Manager and site teams in implementing and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across construction projects. The role involves assisting with site audits, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations, while promoting a strong safety-first culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with H&S, environmental legislation, and company procedures
* Support the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements
* Deliver toolbox talks and basic HSE training under guidance
* Assist with incident, accident, and near-miss investigations
* Monitor PPE, safety signage, and emergency procedures on site
* Support the implementation of site-specific Construction Health & Safety Plans
* Maintain accurate HSE documentation, including permits, inspections, certifications, and subcontractor records
* Promote environmental initiatives such as waste management and spill control
* Assist during regulatory inspections and liaise with site teams on HSE best practices
Key Competencies
* Basic knowledge of EHS legislation, risk assessment, and hazard identification
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Team-oriented with a proactive and positive attitude
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Willingness to learn and develop within an EHS role
Education & Experience
* Minimum Level 6 qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline
* Previous experience in an EHS role within construction (internships or graduate roles acceptable)
* Familiarity with EHS management systems and compliance audits
* Knowledge of construction safety and environmental legislation
