Job Opportunity: Senior Occupational Therapist. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Occupational Therapy team in an acute hospital in West Dublin.
The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, particularly in orthopaedics, surgical, and medical rehabilitation, with a proven ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team (MDT). They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and work effectively within the team.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide expert assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for patients across a variety of acute settings. You will lead and provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute setting, assess, plan, and implement individualised treatment plans for patients, and supervise and mentor junior Occupational Therapists and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute setting
- Assess, plan, and implement individualised treatment plans for patients in orthopaedics, medical, surgical, and the medical assessment unit
- Supervise and mentor junior Occupational Therapists and students
- Drive service development initiatives and quality improvement projects
- Promote functional independence through rehabilitation interventions and discharge planning
- Educate patients and their families about therapy goals and progress
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with hospital policies
Requirements:
- CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist (Essential)
- A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, with at least 1 year in an acute hospital setting
- Strong clinical skills, particularly in orthopaedics, surgical, and medical rehabilitation
- Proven ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to a MDT
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and work effectively within a team
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment
