Registrar in Medical Assessment Unit at Bantry General Hospital
Bantry General Hospital (BGH) provides acute general services to the population of a unique, rural, very large geographical area encompassing West Cork, South Kerry and many inhabited islands.
The catchment area is geographically the largest in Ireland with a population of at least 60,000 which is conservatively estimated to double to 120,000 during the six summer months as a result of tourism and summer migration.
BGH has been designated a Model 2R hospital, the only model of this kind at both regional and national level at this time. The Hospital's Academic Partner is University College Cork (UCC).
