Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field
* 5+ years post‑college experience
* Extensive electrical and mechanical experience
* Previous experience with a main contractor or M&E contractor
Duties and Responsibilities
* Join a team of surveyors to provide commercial services to the company in line with industry practice.
* Develop commercial reporting, administration, communication and ERP processes to industry best practices and business needs.
* Establish good relationships with PQSs to agree final accounts.
* Deal with suppliers and subcontractors during the procurement process.
* Develop, with the commercial director, best‑in‑class contract documentation for use with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Oversee the inputting of budgets and run projects through the job costing system, liaising monthly with Contracts Managers regarding meeting budgets.
* Place sub‑contract orders in conjunction with the relevant Manager/Buying Department.
* Measure work to maximise the value of applications to clients.
* Administer payment applications for subcontractors to ensure positive cash flow and fair valuations.
* Evaluate terms and conditions of subcontractors with emphasis on risk, programme, design responsibility, etc.
* Prepare tender risk analysis and contract documentation including bills of quantities.
* Run accurate commercial cost control reports on projects, identifying committed costs, forecasts, and material, sub‑contract, and labour costs.
* Prepare and monitor project cash flows, feeding into the master company cash flow.
* Set up and maintain variation logs, managing and agreeing variations with clients and subcontractors.
* Review site programmes for delays, disruption, damage, and subcontract programme.
* Enhance client relationships to maximise current and future opportunities.
* Analyse and develop responses to commercial risks with the Commercial Director.
* Prepare and present monthly company reports at each project or business review, in line with company formats.
* Provide advice on contractual claims, analysing outcomes and reporting as required.
* Use the company’s financial systems to ensure accurate cost reporting.
* Act in a manner fitting to the business, upholding company standards internally and externally.
* Prepare monthly commercial reports.
