Infrastructure Project Manager Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead our team in delivering a successful project. The role involves creating a roadmap for the technology platform to address specific challenges or risks, and ensuring production stability, information security, software upgrades, and regulatory obligations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the financial/insurance sectors and possess strong technical knowledge with a focus on strategic technologies. They should also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as analytical and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
* Develop a comprehensive project plan and manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
* Create infrastructure delivery plans for hardware, software, and operational processes.
* Lead or participate in the design of hardware infrastructure solutions, associated operational processes, and provisioning of software environments.
* Cross-train staff on new technologies introduced.
* Identify and recommend industry best practices, including cost-benefit analysis and estimates for proposed solutions.
* Maintain knowledge of IT Infrastructure architecture, standards, and practices, and consistently apply these standards.
* Manage communications to ensure effective issue and risk control and stakeholder understanding.
* Define all resource requirements, including services, people, hardware, and software.
* Manage project budgets and adhere to technical governance standards.
* Effectively lead project teams on and offshore.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of project management experience in implementing enterprise infrastructure and technology solutions.
* Strong understanding of IT technical infrastructure and software development technologies.
* Experience in managing technical infrastructure projects from a budget management and technical delivery perspective.
* Experienced in Financial or Insurance industries.
* Broad technical knowledge base with a focus on strategic technologies.
* Management of third-party technical suppliers for project delivery.
* Good knowledge and understanding of IT technologies.
* Commitment to following formal project management disciplines.
* Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
* Analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
* Experience in leading projects in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies is an advantage.
