About The Land Development Agency
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a key Government Commercial Semi-State Body that delivers social and affordable housing on State and other lands. It is overseen by an independent board of directors, with the Government committed to providing €1.25 billion of equity as needed. The LDA has begun construction on various state-sourced lands and is working on projects that can deliver over 5,000 homes. It also collaborates with the private sector on ‘Project Tosaigh’, which aims to produce a further 5,000 homes. Additionally, the agency is involved in strategic master-planning and planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin, and Sandy Road in Galway.
The Role
This position provides high-quality administrative support to the Director of Planning Services. It offers an opportunity to improve processes, build relationships, and work in a dynamic environment. The role requires someone who can take ownership of their workload, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support to the Director of Planning Services and team.
2. Plan agendas, prepare documents, and coordinate updates for meetings including committees, planning teams, EMT, and Board meetings.
3. Attend meetings, take minutes, and support workshops and planning activities.
4. Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion.
5. Manage departmental invoices, purchase orders, and related tasks in accordance with policies.
6. Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
7. Maintain confidentiality and support the management of planning activities.
8. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Manage diaries and meetings for the Director and planning team.
10. Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting as needed.
11. Provide ad hoc support to other departments as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a comparable organization.
* Experience supporting senior management, including managing complex calendars.
* Proven ability to prepare agendas and minutes, and track follow-up actions.
* Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently in complex situations, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate sound judgment.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* High level of organization and attention to detail.
* Professionalism, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
