Purpose of the Role:
The key objective of this position is to develop the job description and supporting documentation, under the guidance of the Health Care Provider’s Advanced Practice Stakeholder Governance Group, to enable the nurse to meet the NMBI criteria for registration as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP), as outlined in Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI, 2017).
The post holder will undertake academic preparation and develop the clinical, leadership skills, competencies, and knowledge necessary to meet the registration criteria with NMBI. The scope of the cANP role reflects incremental development of expertise and cannot deliver care autonomously.
The NCCS at CHI Crumlin provides and coordinates care for children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer in Ireland, aligned with the National Cancer Control Programme.
Essential Criteria:
Eligible applicants will:
1. Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or entitled to be registered by the closing date.
2. Be registered in the Children’s division of the NMBI or be eligible for such registration.
Skills / Competencies / Knowledge:
* Have at least 3 years of clinical experience relevant to Paediatric Haematology in an acute paediatric haematology oncology setting within the last 5 years.
* Be eligible or currently undertaking a Master’s Degree (Level 9 or equivalent) in Nursing or a relevant field, including at least three modular components related to advanced practice, plus clinical practicum.
* Possess the requisite knowledge, ability, and high standards of clinical, professional, and administrative capacity to perform the role effectively.
