Basic Purpose The Business Development Manager role will have responsibility within the Republic of Ireland.
He / she will be responsible for identifying high value business prospects with a particular focus on new business opportunities.
Reporting to the Head of Key accounts and business development.
Once a customer is closed, the Business Development Manager will manage the customer during the nursery period and then ensure a seamless hand-over of the customer to the relevant sales channel.
The Business Development Manager will also work on target sectors, competitor held business and target customers.
There will also be a responsibility to reply to RFIs and RFQs as they are received and to ensure DHL is on the list of any forthcoming RFQs.
Principle Accountabilities Develops a strong pipeline of potential customers via personal sales visits, using face to face contact to provide a 'personal service'.
Closely manages the onboarding stages of any new customer to ensure the process itself is seamless in order to give full confidence to any new customers.
Will be main point for the nursery period of anything from 3 to 6 months.
Develop and prospect a portfolio of potential customers via cold calling and personal sales visits.
Using face-to-face contact to provide a 'personal service' Conversion of qualified leads into customers (First Time Buyers) and develop and penetrate existing accounts (Retention and Development).
Ability to solve customer issues and demonstrate what DHL would see as best practice within the customer specific industry.
Ability to conduct research and stay ahead of the trends across all industries.
Focus on DHL's high value business development opportunities.
Ability to directly lead and develop sales opportunities.
Ability to coordinate and influence key stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Take primary responsibility for significantly growing revenue in the target industry specifically by helping develop our go to market strategy and building a predictable pipeline of new business.
Work with IS team to support development of system improvements.
Identify industry best practice and recommend where appropriate within the business.
Identify new market opportunities and execute and manage market entry plans.
Professional implementation of business plans so as to enhance sales.
Constantly monitors relevant economic and market trends.
Identifies and evaluates products, services and companies that are relevant to the current business.
Develops and provides cost models for new business planning.
D esigns and implements market intelligence systems Requirements for the role 3rd level education in a Business/Sales discipline.
L eaving cert or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in related field and/or relevant 3rd level qualification.
Experienced professional contributor with demonstrated ability to manage high revenue customers.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet KPI's.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sourcing and recommending eCommerce solutions/ integrated solutions and third-party solutions to customers.
Experience in dealing with customers with eCommerce platforms such as Magneto, Scurri
