Facilities and Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Maintain the building's infrastructure to ensure timely office maintenance, adhering to health and safety regulations.
This is a generalist position requiring the ability to evaluate situations and recommend appropriate courses of action. Flexibility and variance in role requirements are essential, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills within the team.
A high degree of attention to detail is required, with specific attention to the health and safety of the building and team.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing facilities around the building, including parking, lighting, and external cleaning.
* Ensuring a continuous relationship with the clinic manager/team onsite in the Health and Wellbeing clinic.
* On-call availability outside working hours if required.
* Ensuring the building is compliant with health and safety regulations, fire regulations, and reporting any necessary issues to the H&S officer.
* Liaising with the IT operations manager regarding technical issues, comms room issues, generator and UPS maintenance, or other relevant items affecting IT systems.
* Ensuring electrics, wiring, and security in the building comply with all safety standards.
* Meeting monthly with the security account manager to address any issues.
* Ensuring requests for modifications are approved, including air conditioning, painting, maintenance, flooring, etc., prior to work commencing.
* Organizing repairs and maintenance as required, minimizing disruptive work during core working hours.
* Supervising construction/renovations work.
* Assisting in desk moves and Future of Office Plan works.
* Completing scheduled maintenance visits throughout the year and ensuring all relevant paperwork is up to date.
* Involvement in internal and external facilities audits as required.
* Ordering office furniture and proposing office-seating arrangements for approval.
* Promoting a Green Policy.
* General housekeeping: completing weekly walk-arounds of the building internally and externally to ensure housekeeping standards are met.
* Tendering for maintenance contracts annually to ensure the best service and price where required, involving the procurement team where necessary.
* Consistently looking for ways to improve processes and efficiency.
* Assisting with event organizing both onsite and offsite, such as team summer days, Christmas parties, and training events.
* Acting as support and backup for the Facilities team for onsite events as required.
* Supporting the implementation of details outlined in the Physical Security Standard and Guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
* Leaving Certificate (L6) or equivalent required.
* Preference: qualified electrician.
