The Actuarial Reporting Manager will lead and oversee the Actuarial Reporting team, responsible for quarterly IFRS reserving, experience analysis, and fulfilling the business planning needs across all product lines. This pivotal role necessitates offering technical actuarial support and expertise to various business divisions while effectively managing and mentoring a team of skilled actuaries. The Actuarial manager will play a key role in driving the business forward by providing strategic advice to senior management, identifying and managing risk and ensuring the company’s financial objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the production of quarterly IFRS17 technical reserves, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Analyse and interpret results and produce management information and reports for review by the Head of Reserving and Capital and Chief Financial Officer.
* Effectively communicate technical results to senior management, the Executive Committee, and shareholders.
* Manage business plan modelling, aligning projections with the company's strategic direction.
* Coordinate sensitivity and scenario testing to enhance business planning accuracy.
* Collaborate with pricing and reserving teams to provide input into assumption setting and ensure consistency across the organisation.
* Conduct assessments of IFRS17 PAA eligibility criteria, ensuring appropriate compliance to the IFRS standard.
* Efficiently prepare and present detailed IFRS17 returns to the parent Group.
* Provide valuable input into enhancing the data quality framework of the company. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with various departments, such as Finance, Risk, IT, and Operations, ensuring seamless communication.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of Creditor Protection Insurance products & processes.
* Actuarial experience (5 years or more) – 3+ years of reserving/solvency specific experience.
* Qualified or Nearly Qualified Actuary.
* Knowledge of risk management processes.
* Experience of working within a regulatory framework.
* Strong database and modelling software application skills – Prophet & Sapiens desirable
* Strong analytical and problem solving.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Sense of risk and control.
* Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external business relationships.
