Fabric Maintenance Technician
We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Building Fabric Technician to join a well-established facilities services team based in South Dublin. This is a hands-on, field-based role involving a mix of planned and reactive maintenance duties across client sites.
The ideal candidate will be trade qualified, adaptable and committed to maintaining safe and high-quality environments. The position offers opportunities for professional development within a collaborative and supportive team.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building fabric elements including carpentry, glazing, roofing, tiling, painting, and minor plumbing.
* Perform compliance checks such as PPM routines, fire door inspections, and legionella flush testing to meet safety and regulatory standards.
* Conduct general repairs and installations involving doors, windows, ceilings, walls, furniture, and fittings.
* Support emergency and out-of-hours repairs, including urgent response to leaks, glazing issues, and safety-related fixes.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and job logs, contributing to reports and compliance reviews.
* Use digital tools and CAFM systems for job scheduling, updates, and collaboration with wider facilities and contractor teams.
* Assist with mechanical and electrical support tasks where appropriate, such as light replacements and valve operation.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a building fabric or facilities maintenance role with strong practical skills in carpentry, plastering, tiling, and minor plumbing.
* Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and experience conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks.
* Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Effective communication skills and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
* Full driving license and relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) are desirable.
