Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
* Assist in producing quarterly management accounts for major reinsurance companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of results.
* Take ownership of designated trial balance reconciliations each quarter — such as those covering investments, investment income, FX derivatives, and taxation — including detailed variance explanations and resolution of discrepancies.
* Oversee and approve invoices associated with investment activities.
* Report on off-balance sheet exposures and commitments on a quarterly basis.
* Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and established accounting procedures.
Client and Group Reporting
* Contribute to the preparation, review, and sign-off of quarterly financial results and client account statements.
* Prepare or review IFRS-compliant financial statements, notes, and disclosures.
* Assess and provide commentary on Group reporting submissions and IFRS-based quarterly memos.
* Review Solvency II regulatory returns (QRTs) at both quarterly and annual intervals.
* Participate in the external audit process, assisting with requests and ensuring the timely delivery of supporting documentation.
Taxation and Compliance
* Support all tax-related processes, including preparation of returns, payments, and statutory filings, in coordination with external advisors and Group tax teams.
Other Duties
* Engage in additional assignments as required to support team objectives and broader finance initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with several years of post-qualification experience.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good overall IT literacy.
* Prior exposure to IFRS reporting is desirable.
* Experience within the Financial Services / insurance industry will be considered a strong advantage.
