NDY Senior Mechanical Engineer, Dublin
At Tetra Tech, you'll be joining the Mechanical team and working on landmark projects across multiple sectors including Data Centers, Commercial Office, Hotel & Residential, Retail, and Laboratory projects.
The role focuses primarily on overseeing delivery across these sectors with flexible working arrangements, opportunities for personal growth, and a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
Design and review mechanical system designs for a range of projects
Act as a sounding board for mechanical engineers in the office, offering design direction and guidance
Peer review of designs and specifications of mechanical systems
Play an active role in developing the mechanical team's technical capability
Lead projects and represent NDY externally in project and technical meetings
Provide client oversight of contractor works and oversee contractor installation and commissioning
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and contacts on new and emerging technologies and their application
Ensure NDY's quality system is implemented and maintained on all projects
Support business development and identify opportunities for new work, including assistance with project bid and interview phases
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Building Services Engineering from an accredited institution (equivalent qualifications in a similar field may also be considered)
IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Chartered Engineer status and relevant accreditations
Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with staff at all levels across multiple disciplines and external clients
Minimum 7 years of mechanical building services design experience; ideally 10+ years
Strong business acumen, capable of making informed decisions
Knowledge of mechanical design principles, standards, codes, and design guides (including BCO)
Experience reviewing commissioning and overseeing mechanical installations by contractor on projects
Strong understanding of various mechanical systems and their applications
Well-developed problem-solving skills and a "think outside the box" mentality
Familiarity with full design stages from concept to detailed design and construction administration
General understanding of other engineering disciplines including electrical, public health, and fire protection (highly desirable)
