Job Title
Civil Engineer Intern
Responsibilities
Work as part of a project team, contributing to the delivery of ongoing projects and embracing a collaborative "one team" culture.
Support the promotion of Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures on site.
Develop foundational skills in setting out under supervision.
Gain practical experience in the use of laser levels and dumpy levels.
Build familiarity with BIM/Revit and develop basic drafting skills.
Learn to interpret rebar details and drawings with guidance from senior engineers.
Learn and practice basic concrete quality control tests, such as measuring slump, taking cube samples, curing them properly, and recording the results.
Get familiar with water and wastewater treatment processes, including exposure to modular package treatment plant fabrication.
Engage in continuous learning and development, keeping up to date with emerging industry standards and technologies through guidance and mentoring.
Support site teams with health and safety activities, such as inductions, statutory inspections, record keeping, and data collection.
Demonstrate eagerness to learn, develop professional skills, and progress toward future career goals.
Undertake other tasks and learning opportunities as required to support project and team needs.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Management (or related) degree programme.
Must be returning to college/university after completion of the placement (this is a structured placement opportunity, not a graduate role).
Strong academic foundation with an interest in developing practical, on‑site engineering skills.
Enthusiasm for learning and applying engineering concepts in real‑world projects.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); exposure to AutoCAD or similar software is an advantage but not essential.
Willingness to work on‑site and adapt to a dynamic project environment.
